Global bunker average falls 0.7% in January


Monthly global bunker average is $5.72 lower than in December.



The Bunker Index (BIX) global monthly average declined by $5.72, or 0.7 percent, to $787.85 per tonne last month, down from $793.57 per tonne in December.

In a comparison with previous years, the January 2014 average was $35.57 per tonne lower than the $823.42 average price recorded in Janaury 2013 and $61.18 per tonne lower than the $849.03 per tonne figure seen in January 2012.
