Pakistan: Supplier adds bunker barge

Bunker firm expands fleet with self-propelled oil barge.

Pakistan's Ocean Bunkers has announced the addition of a self-propelled oil barge to its fleet of vessels - the Ocean III.

With the addition of this barge, Ocean Bunkers now operates five oil barges and a fleet of road tank wagons (RTWs). The company delivers 180-centistoke RME 180 fuel and DMA marine gasoil (MGO) to clients calling at Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi and Gwadar. It is able to supply up to 1000 tonnes of 180-cst and 150 tonnes of MGO in one delivery.

The company's five barges are:

Ocean-I

Ocean-II

Ocean-III

Ocean-V

Ocean-VI

Ocean-I, Ocean-II and Ocean-III carry 180-cst product, whilst Ocean-V and Ocean-VI deliver MGO DMA.

The Ocean-III has the capacity to carry up to 400-450 metric tonnes of fuel in its 8 tanks and pumps fuel at a rate of 150 metric tonnes per hour.

Launched in 2010, Ocean Bunkers is headed by experienced marine fuels professional Muhammad Yousuf, who has been involved in the bunker industry since 1994.

Yousuf previously held the position of Director, International Marine Sales at Karachi-based Orion Bunkers, where he was also a partner and responsible for financial matters.

The company's financial controller, Fauzia Naz, is said to be "well versed in financial matters" with 11 years' experience working in related posts.
