The naming ceremony for the Orca Fisher, a dual-fuel chemical and product tanker built for James Fisher, was held in London on 21 July, alongside the historic warship HMS Belfast.

The vessel is the first in a series of four FKAB T68-design tankers being built for James Fisher at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng in China.

Delivered in March, Orca Fisher has a deadweight of 6,000 DWT and is capable of running on LNG and liquefied biogas (LBG) and diesel. Propulsion is provided by a Wärtsilä 25 four-stroke LNG/LBG dual-fuel engine, which can operate as an auxiliary engine during cargo discharging and other low-load cases in harbour mode using skip-firing mode.

The vessel incorporates a range of technical features, including MarineLine-coated cargo tanks, a shaft generator with power take-home (PTH) and variable frequency drive (VFD), an economiser, and a thermal oil boiler.

The FKAB T68 is a chemical and product tanker design developed by Swedish naval architecture firm FKAB. As previously reported, Tiger Fisher and Narwhal Fisher form part of the four-vessel 6,000-dwt FKAB T68 series and were officially named at a ceremony at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng on 21 May.
