Copec offering low sulphur fuel in Chile

Supplier officially begins quoting for deliveries of low sulphur fuel in central and southern ports.

Bunker supplier Copec Marine Fuels is now offering ECA-compliant low sulphur intermediate fuel oil to clients in a number of ports located in central and southern Chile.

Speaking to Bunker Index, Brenda Badilla, head of bunker sales at Copec, explained that the company has already been supplying low sulphur product to a select number of clients for around a month.

Following the initial one month supply period, Badilla said that Copec was now in a position to officially quote for deliveries of 1% 380-centistoke (cst) and 180-cst fuel at the Zona Central (Central Zone) ports of Valparaiso, Quintero and San Antonio.

In addition to Zona Central, Copec is also able to arrange low sulphur deliveries for ports in Zona Sur (Southern Zone) for customers also purchasing regular sulphur 3.5% fuel.

At the ports of Valparaiso and Quintero today, Copec was quoting $840 per tonne for low sulphur 380-cst fuel compared to $690 per tonne for regular 3.5% 380-cst product.

Meanwhile, low sulphur 180-cst was today being quoted at $936 per tonne in Valparaiso and Quintero, whilst regular sulphur 180-cst was priced at $786 per tonne.

In San Antonio today, prices were $2 higher than in Valparaiso and Quintero with low and regular sulphur 380-cst priced at $842 and $692 per tonne respectively and 180-cst at $938 and $788 per tonne.
