GOIL signs bunkering agreement

Agreement will enable GOIL to provide a bunkering service to clients at Sekondi Naval Base.

Ghana Oil Company Ltd. (GOIL) has signed a collaborative agreement with Ghana Navy for the use of berthing facilities at Sekondi Naval Base in order for GOIL to carry out its bunkering operations there.

The deal will enable GOIL to supply marine gas oil (MGO) to customers in the area, including supply vessels contracted by oil firms and operating in Cape Three Points - a small peninsula which forms the southernmost tip of Ghana.

The agreement was signed by GOIL Managing Director, Yaw Agyemang-Duah, and Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral M. Quarshie.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency, Agyemang-Duah said the agreement was one of the strategic initiatives adopted by the company to provide quality bunkering services to its clients. He added that GOIL would continue to provide quality petroleum products in a safe, environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner.

Rear Admiral Quarshie expressed Ghana Navy's pleasure for the collaboration between the two institutions and pledged to find other areas that could be harnessed for their mutual benefit.
