KPI Bridge Oil opens office in Florida

Bunker group launches fourth office in the Americas.

KPI Bridge Oil has today announced that it is expanding its operations in the Americas by opening a new office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This is KPI Bridge Oil's fourth office in the Americas, adding to the group's offices in New York, Seattle and Valparaiso. Nils Mortensen [pictured] who has more than 15 years experience in international business and bunker trading, will manage the new operation.

In a statement KPI Bridge Oil said: "The establishment of this office further consolidates the KPI Bridge Oil group's strength and builds on the company's strategy of positioning offices in the locations where its customers are actually conducting business. This step is a natural extension of KPI Bridge Oil's successful operations in North and South America which will ensure continuous coverage of the markets in the US Gulf and the Caribbean.

"The new office will also permit KPI Bridge Oil to develop a close co-operation with locally based clients with the same highly acclaimed service that KPI Bridge Oil customers are accustomed to in other areas across the world," KPI Bridge Oil added.

Jan Obel, CEO, KPI Bridge Oil Group commented: "KPI Bridge Oil is one of the leading and fastest growing bunker service companies in the world. With our new strategy implemented at the beginning of 2008 and the mergers between Bridge Oil Ltd and KPI Oil Associates, Inc., and then again with Davies & Newman Wake in London, we have experienced significant growth over the past 3 years. Our position as a trading and broking company allows us to better service our customers needs.

"We will continue to develop our organization so that we can deliver outstanding customer service based on strong local knowledge. We believe there is going to be a strong synergy between our Valparaiso office and the new office in Miami and that Nils Mortensen will add significant value to the regional shipping industry with his international experience in the bunker industry and the support from our other six well-positioned offices, which now consist of more than 55 brokers and traders," said Obel.
