Distribution agreement for emissions reduction system

System is said to lower fuel consumption, reduce pollution and extend engine life.

EcoEmissions Solutions Inc. (ESI) has announced the completion of a definitive agreement to acquire EcoEmissions Systems Incorporated. As part of the acquisition, EcoEmissions Solutions Inc. gains the rights to distribute the Catalyst Injection System (CIS), an emissions-reducing system for all types of diesel engines.

The pre-combustion system injects a platinum-based catalyst (nano) solution into the engine cylinders, producing what ESI refers to as 'a more complete burn' of the diesel fuel. Simply installed without modifications to the engine itself, the results are said to be more power, lower fuel consumption, dramatically reduced pollution and an extension of engine life.

The catalyst is used as part of normal diesel engine operation and is replenished approximately every 500 hours, depending on the size of the installation.

By burning fuel more efficiently, ESI says its EcoEmissions pre-combustion technology reduces diesel costs by 8-12 percent. The EcoEmissions system is also said to cut emissions of particulate matter by 30-40 percent, and those of hydrocarbons and nitrous oxides (NOx) by 25 percent or more.

EcoEmissions will initially focus on the multi-billion dollar global marine and other large diesel markets. According to ESI, incremental improvements to engines of this scale, by using the injection system will bring large savings over the life of a ship.

"As an example, just one seagoing tug could save over $100,000 per year in fuel costs (based on 700,000 gal/yr consumption) by using the EcoEmissions technology," ESI said.
