Jiangnan Shipyard has delivered the final ship in a series of methanol-ready car carriers built for Anji Logistics, the vehicle logistics arm of SAIC Motor, with the 9,500-vehicle-capacity Anji Luck named and delivered on 20 April.
The ship, designated H2678, was named and handed over on the same day, according to an announcement by the Chinese shipbuilder.
The delivery completes Jiangnan Shipyard’s series of 9,500-vehicle-capacity methanol-ready car carriers built for Anji Logistics and also marks the yard’s final car carrier delivery of 2026.
Zhuang Jingxiong, general manager of SAIC Anji Logistics, said: “This giant vessel delivered today is the final piece in Anji's 12-vessel large ocean-going fleet built since 2022. We sincerely thank Jiangnan Shipyard for its dedicated assistance, and also thank the Shanghai Ship Design & Research Institute, China Classification Society Shanghai Branch, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and other institutions for their strong support. It is the wisdom and hard work of all parties involved that has made the delivery and voyage of this giant vessel possible. The launch of this giant vessel marks a new beginning. We firmly believe that it will brave the winds and waves, fulfill its mission, and write a new chapter in the journey of "Made in China" and SAIC's global expansion!”
Li Jin, party secretary of New Energy Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd., named the ship. Other attendees included representatives from SAIC Motor, SAIC Anji Logistics, Cosco Shipping Holdings, China Classification Society Shanghai Branch, China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association, Shanghai Ship Design & Research Institute, OSM and China Shipbuilding Trading.
Jiangnan Shipyard noted that the project team had worked on the series since the first order was signed in January 2022, with improvements made in process quality, construction efficiency, cost control and supply chain support across the programme.
The shipbuilder added that delivery of Anji Luck marked a milestone in its four-year cooperation with Anji Logistics and reflected close collaboration between the parties involved. Jiangnan Shipyard also thanked SAIC Group, Anji Logistics, Chongming Maritime Safety Administration, the Export-Import Bank of China, Shanghai Ship Design and Research Institute, China Classification Society and the on-site construction team for their support, and stated that it looked forward to further cooperation with Anji Logistics.
