Peninsula is marking its 30th anniversary, having expanded from a small marine fuel supplier founded in 1996 to a global marine energy business operating 21 commercial offices and arranging the delivery of marine fuels across more than 500 ports worldwide.

The bunker supplier and trader said its network now includes more than 50 physical supply ports and storage facilities that support its broader global operations.

Peninsula added that its logistics are supported by vessels owned by and chartered through sister company Hercules Tanker Management, which also offers freight solutions to the wider tanker market.

As the marine fuels sector continues to evolve, Peninsula explained that it is expanding its lower-carbon offerings, including biofuel infrastructure, LNG and bio-LNG supply and trading, as well as other marine energy solutions.

John A. Bassadone, CEO and founder of Peninsula, remarked: “Our ambition has always been to do business the right way, with integrity, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to our customers and partners. As we celebrate 30 years, we remain focused on delivering reliable energy solutions today while innovating for a zero-carbon future.”

The company noted that it employs more than 500 people representing over 40 nationalities, with teams supporting operations across global markets.

“People have always been our greatest asset,” Bassadone commented. “Their dedication is what has transformed Peninsula from a small supplier in 1996 to a global leader in 2026. This still feels like the beginning of our journey, and as we grow and diversify every year, the opportunities before us are incredibly exciting.”
