Marine fuel supplier Monjasa has announced the passing of Paul Pappaceno, a senior trader in the company’s Houston office and a widely respected figure in the global bunkering industry.

Pappaceno’s career spanned 39 years, beginning in 1987 at the World Trade Center and taking him across the world. Colleagues noted that his presence shaped every workplace he joined, and that many in the industry felt fortunate to have worked alongside him.

In a statement posted on LinkedIn, Monjasa said Pappaceno joined the company in 2022. He brought a rare combination of deep trading expertise, genuine warmth, and an unwavering commitment to his team.

Known for being the first person to arrive at the office each morning, he quickly became a central part of the Houston operation. Monjasa said his “people-first approach” made him a trusted friend as much as a valued colleague, and a key contributor to the success of the regional team.

According to the company, Pappaceno often joked that he felt like he was on “paid vacation” because he enjoyed his work and the people around him, an attitude Monjasa said reflected his spirit until the very end.

He is survived by his wife, Pam, and his son, Paul Jr. Monjasa expressed gratitude to his family, noting that the impact he had across the industry was a testament to the person they shared with so many.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, 10 December at 4:00 p.m. at:

The Cellar Bar
3140 Richmond Ave.
Houston, TX 77098

The event is open to all who wish to honour his life and legacy.
