Bunker firm Monjasa has congratulated its Head of HR, Tracy Tan, on her 10-year anniversary at the firm.

Denmark-based Tan joined Monjasa in 2008 and spent four years working as a bunker trader, plus two as team leader, before becoming Head of HR towards the end of 2014 - a position she has now held for almost four years.

Prior to joining Monjasa, Tan spent two years employed as a foreign service officer for Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She has a master's degree in social sciences and political science from the National University of Singapore, and a mini-MBA from Probana Business School.

Monjasa explained on Monday that Tan had been hired "based on being who she is, i.e. open[-]minded, witty and able to think on her feet".

"Where we are today largely reflects how Tracy is able to put her Monjasa DNA into play for the company and all of us who benefit from that every day. Congrats and all the best, Tracy!" the company added.
