Certas Energy launches Thames distillate facility

UK supplier offering MGO by pipeline and truck.

UK firm Certas Energy has launched a new Thames River bunkering facility for the supply of distillate marine fuels by pipeline and truck.

Commenting on the new operation, Gary Byers, General Manager at Certas Energy Marine, said: "The Thames location is a tactical addition to our marine fuel offering, enhancing our storage and supply portfolio. This expansion is in line with our growth plans in the marine sector and helps us to deliver convenient, cost effective services for our customers."

Referring to Certas Energy's bunker team, Byers said: "We have a team of dedicated marine fuel experts who understand the bunkering needs of our marine customers; this, coupled with our commitment to provide the best solution for our customers, makes us stand out from alternative distributors."

Certas Energy's network in the UK includes depots near every major port.

In 2014, Bunker Index reported the launch of a similar Certas operation at the Port of Tyne in North Shields.

The facility, which comprises a pipeline as well as fuel storage facilities, provides low-sulphur, DMA-specification marine gas oil (MGO) with a maximum sulphur content of 0.1 percent. The company is able to supply ex-pipe to ships at Port of Tyne as well as carry out deliveries of MGO across the North East region by truck.
