Marginal rise for BIX MGO average in week 47


ICE Gasoil weekly average rose by 6.1% over the same period.



The global weekly average for marine gas oil (MGO), the Bunker Index MGO (BIX MGO), rose for the first time in four weeks during the trading week ending 25th November, according to Bunker Index price data.

In week 47, the MGO average rose by $4.18, or 0.75 percent, to $559.58 per tonne, up from $555.40 per tonne seven days earlier. Despite the relatively small increase, it is the most significant in five weeks - since the $17.43-per-tonne jump recorded in the week ending 21st October. The $559.58-per-tonne average is the highest since the week ending 11th November.

During the same period, the ICE Gasoil front-month settlement weekly average was up $25.45 per tonne, or 6.1 percent, to $442.95 per tonne. It is the biggest week-on-week rise since 7th October.

End-of-week prices

The daily BIX MGO ended the week at $559.77 per tonne - up $3.98, or 0.72 percent, on the $555.79-per-tonne price recorded on 18th November. It is the first week-on-week increase since 21st October.

The daily ICE front-month settlement price rose by $8.50 per tonne, or 2.0 percent, to $432.50 per tonne in week 47. It is the highest end-of-week price since 28th October.

The BIX MGO is the daily global average price for all MGO assessment prices published on the Bunker Index website.
