Rotterdam 380 cSt up 5.2% in September


The monthly 380 cSt average at Europe's biggest bunker port hasn't fallen since January.



The 380 centistoke (cSt) average at Europe's leading bunker port rose to its highest level in 14 months in September, according to Bunker Index price data.

The Rotterdam 380 cSt average increased by $12, or 5.2 percent, to $243 per tonne, up from $231 per tonne in August. It has now been eight months since the port last saw a month-on-month decrease.

During September, Rotterdam's best-selling fuel grade recorded a $27 low-to-high price differential, with a range of $227 to $254 per tonne. The low of $227 was recorded on 2nd September, whilst the month's high was seen on 9th September.

In comparison with the corresponding month in 2015, the September 2016 average is $18 higher. It is $303 below the $546-per-tonne figure seen in September 2014.

The month ended with an assessment price of $250.50 per tonne, up $9.00, or 3.7 percent, on the $241.50 per tonne recorded on the last trading day of August.
