Website launched for IBIA Convention


Event is due to be held in Gibraltar in November.



The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) has launched a new website to showcase the Annual Convention, due to be held in Gibraltar on 7th to 11th November 2016.

The website, which is being added to on a daily basis as the international roster of speakers is confirmed, has details of the full program of networking events, training courses and industry discussions planned.

The conference, will host sessions on the following key issues:-

- Hubs and spokes
A session looking at the development of key bunkering port hubs and their impact on surrounding ports in respect to best bunkering practise.

- 2020 - Are we prepared?
Examining the key environmental issues being debated today by the regulators and industry.

- Are new fuels the answer?
Examining the new fuels in the market – from hybrid to low sulphur fuels to biodiesels.

- Compliance options
Delegates and speakers will look at the potential of LNG as a viable, inexpensive, clean marine fuel and compare it against scrubbing and other options.

- IBIA bunker surgery
The final conference session will offer a panel of bunkering experts who will answer questions from delegates on a wide range of subjects, including legal, technical, operational, environmental and commercial.

The conference will be hosted aboard the Five Star Sunborn Gibraltar superyacht hotel, situated in the Ocean Village complex.

In addition to networking with industry professionals, the conference will offer a selection of workshops and training courses.
