China Classification Society (CCS) took part in Singapore Maritime Week 2026 on 22 April, where it presented a series of certifications linked to green shipping, emissions control and digitalisation.

In the methanol segment, CCS issued a classification certificate for Global Energy Group’s methanol bunkering vessel project. CCS said the craft complies with Singapore’s TR129 methanol bunkering standard, is compatible with B100 biodiesel and has been included in Singapore’s Green Ship Initiative.

For emissions abatement, the Chinese class society granted type approval to CONTIOCEAN Environment Tech Group’s open-loop exhaust gas cleaning system. CCS noted that the approval supports shipboard pollution control and compliance with international environmental rules.

In the digital security field, CCS awarded AQUASYNC a type approval certificate for integrated measurement, monitoring, alarm and control systems, including class-level protection certification. CCS stated that the approval complies with IACS UR E27 requirements, meets Cyber Security Class Level 2, and marks the world’s first type approval certificate of its kind.

Specialists from the CCS Overseas Technology Center also delivered a presentation at the Tech Stage forum on ship handover in electronic format, using project examples to show how this approach can improve lifecycle management and support wider transformation across shipping.
