Singapore MGO vs ICE Gas Oil


Analysis of Singapore marine gas oil (MGO) and ICE Gas Oil prices in May.

The average price of marine gas oil (MGO) at the port of Singapore rose at a less significant rate than ICE Gas Oil during the month of May, according to Bunker Index and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) price data.

The ICE Gas Oil settlement average increased by $40.13 per tonne, or 7.16 percent, to $600.81 per tonne in May. During the same period, the Singapore MGO average was up by $37 per tonne, or 6.75 percent, to $585 per tonne.

Between May 2014 and May 2015, the monthly MGO average in Singapore declined by $325 per tonne, or 35.71 percent, from $910 to $585 per tonne, whilst the ICE Gas Oil settlement average decreased by $306.39 per tonne, or 33.77 percent, from $907.20 to $600.81 per tonne.
