Cockett's physical supply operation renamed V-Marine Fuels

Cockett Marine Oil Supplies and Associated Bunkeroil Contractors to be absorbed into new physical supply division. Houston supply operation 'imminent'.

Cockett Marine Oil has today announced that, as a result of Vitol’s recent acquisition of 50% of the Cockett Group, it has been decided to separate the trading and physical supply activities.

As a result, all physical activities from 1st March 2013 will operate as V-Marine Fuels. The change is aimed at bringing greater clarity and value to its customers, Cockett said.

The existing physical activities of Associated Bunkeroil Contractors (ABC) and Cockett Marine Oil Supplies Ltd (CMOS) will be absorbed into this new division.

Commenting on the news, Cockett said: "This move provides V-Marine Fuels the autonomy to expand its current footprint and range of physical supply services globally.

"V-Marine Fuels will offer a superior service to the global shipping industry and capitalise on the strength of its parent companies Vitol & Grindrod. This combination provides an unrivalled position and counterparty in today’s global marine fuels supply sector.

"V-Marine Fuels plans to develop and strengthen its positions in the Rotterdam and UK / English Channel markets and will imminently launch a new physical supply operation in Houston, USA. Further announcements about the new Houston operation will be made in due course.

"V-Marine Fuels looks forward to continuing to service the requirements of its valued customers into the future and in new markets as it executes its expansion strategy."
