WTI vs BIX price comparison


Analysis of WTI crude vs the BIX global bunker price.



The average global bunker price climbed at a slower rate than WTI crude in August 2012, according to Bunker Index price data.

The WTI settlement average rose by $6.24 per barrel, or 7.1 percent, in the month of August. However, during the same period, the BIX global bunker average only increased by $47.42 per tonne, or 6.0 percent, to $832.99 per tonne.

It is the sixth month in succession that global bunker prices have either risen or decreased at a slower rate than WTI crude.
