MSC fuel surcharge amended upwards


New rates effective October 6th as container shipping line issues surcharge correction.



The world's second-largest container shipping line, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), has issued a correction to its previously announced Bunker Contribution (BUC) for all cargo from North West Continent, Scan/Baltic and Mediterranean, including Israel, to US East Coast and West Coast destinations.

Effective October 6th, the fuel surcharge will be as follows:

USD 146 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) - US East Coast

USD 220 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) - US West Coast

The new BUC surcharges are an amendment to the following lower rates previously announced for November 1st 2010:

USD 133 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) - US East Coast

USD 204 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) - US West Coast
