Med MGO average tumbles $9.20 per tonne


MGO prices in the Mediterranean have fallen $31.40 since August 10th.



The Bunker Index Med MGO (BIX MED MGO) - Bunker Index's average price for marine gas oil (MGO) in the Mediterranean - fell $9.20 per tonne today as prices tumbled across the region for all fuel grades.

MGO prices recorded the most significant price drops today with distillate levels plummeting by $10 per tonne or more in Algeciras, Augusta, Fos, Genoa, Gibraltar, Istanbul (for high sulphur MGO), Limassol and Piraeus.

The Bunker Index Med (BIX MED) - Bunker Index's average bunker price for ports in the Mediterranean - plummeted $7.88 to $547.12 per tonne.

Prices in the region have declined on average by $27.68 per tonne, or 4.8 percent, since August 10th following six price declines over the last seven trading days from $574.80 per tonne.

During the same period MGO prices have decreased by $31.40, or 4.4 percent, from $719.70 per tonne to $688.30 per tonne.

Meanwhile, the Bunker Index Med 380 CST (BIX MED 380 CST) - the average price for 380-cst in the region - decreased by $6.89 today to $462.11 per tonne from $469.00 per tonne on Wednesday. The Bunker Index Med 180 CST (BIX MED 180 CST) fell by $7.55 to $485.78 per tonne.

In a comparison with August 10th, BIX MED 380 CST prices have fallen $23.50 per tonne, or 4.8 percent, whilst BIX MED 180 CST levels are $21.97 per tonne, or 4,3 percent lower.
