Cosco Shipping has expanded its fleet with the addition of Feng Da Hai, a 64,000-tonne bulk carrier designed for the transport of dry bulk cargoes including grain and coal.
The vessel, which measures approximately 199.90 metres in length and 32.26 metres in width, offers what Cosco Shipping describes as "strong cargo adaptability and route flexibility," supporting bulk transportation across different operational scenarios.
A notable feature of the vessel is its methanol fuel interface, which Cosco Shipping says lays "the foundation for future low-carbon energy applications." The inclusion of such a supply system reflects a broader industry trend towards future-proofing newbuilds against evolving emissions regulations and alternative fuel adoption, even where vessels continue to operate on conventional fuels at the time of delivery.
The addition of Feng Da Hai forms part of Cosco Shipping's stated focus on "efficient, reliable, and more sustainable shipping solutions."
Cosco Shipping, one of China's largest state-owned shipping groups, operates a diversified fleet spanning container ships, bulk carriers, tankers and specialised vessels.
