Bunkers International supplying LSFO in Colombia

Supplier now offering ISO 2010-compliant product to customers in the ports of Cartagena and Barranquilla.

Leading Colombian supplier Bunkers International Corp, in collaboration with its joint venture partner, Vanoil S.A, is now delivering, upon request, marine bunker fuels meeting the new 2010 ISO 8217 marine fuel specifications at the Colombian ports of Cartagena and Barranquilla.

The new products are said to have very low metals content and all other parameters within the 2010 specifications. Products can be blended to meet either 1.50% or 1.00% maximum sulphur levels.

“This product will be of great interest to our customers with charter party agreements that mandate the newest ISO specifications”, said John Canal, President of Bunkers International.

“Charterers can meet their contractual obligations while receiving the same high-quality service we have become known for. In fact, Bunkers International also offers a full service and fees inclusive "bunkers-only" call to the Cartagena anchorage, which should appeal to vessels in transition to areas requiring the ISO 2010 specification or 1.00% max sulphur product.

”All products sold by Bunkers International in Colombia are fully certified for sale by the state-run refinery and the Colombian government for sale to foreign-flagged vessels and can be blended to meet all ISO designated specifications as noted above," said Canal.

Since its founding in 2000, the joint venture between Bunkers International and Vanoil has become the largest marine fuel supply operation in Colombia, with a fleet of seven barges, shore side storage and sophisticated computerized blending systems.

Customers with enquiries for any ports in Colombia are requested to contact the company’s headquarters in Orlando Florida at +1-407-328-7757 or any of the company's other sales offices worldwide.

Bunkers International has been expanding operations globally since 2000, creating new operations in Colombia, the UK, Singapore, Turkey, New York, Malta, and South Africa.

"The company has significantly increased its trading division, helping drive a seven-fold increase in revenue in the past five years. With strong capitalization, a global customer base of thousands of ship operators, and supply operations on both coasts of Colombia, Bunkers International is well positioned to serve the South American market and beyond," the company said.
