Average Med price falls by almost $9/mt


Med IFO 380 Index and Med MGO Index record declines of over $9/mt.



The Med Bunker Index (ABP) - Bunker Index's average bunker price (ABP) for ports in the Mediterranean - plummeted $8.56 today to $405.91 per tonne as prices decreased in all Mediterranean ports for every major grade of marine fuel.

The largest price declines were seen in the marine distillates market, with marine gasoil (MGO) falling by between $9 and $11 per tonne in the ports of Algeciras, Augusta, Fos, Genoa, Gibraltar, Limassol, Novorossiysk and Piraeus.

As a result the Med MGO Index - Bunker Index's average bunker price for MGO in the Mediterranean - recorded a price decrease of $9.44 to $507.89 per tonne.

The IFO 380 Index - the average price for 380-centistoke (cst) in the Mediterranean - also also fell by over $9 to $344.00 per tonne from $353.11 per tonne the previous day. Algeciras, Augusta, Fos, Genoa, Gibraltar, Novorossiysk, Off Malta and Piraeus all recorded price declines of between $9 and $11.

Meanwhile, the IFO 180 Index was $7.72 lower today compared to Thursday. The price of 180-cst dropped by at least $9 per tonne in Augusta, Fos, Genoa, Off Malta and Piraeus.
