Blue Energy Partners reports that it has secured a multimillion-dollar financing package through two agreements with global partners.

The financing, revealed in a press release dated 5 October, is intended to strengthen the firm’s capital base as it continues to expand internationally. One agreement covers vessel financing, designed to support Blue Energy Partners' physical operations and expansion within physical supply. The other provides trade finance and working capital to support its international trading activities.

Blue Energy Partners was founded in Copenhagen in 2022 by Bijan Shahbaz and Lamin Bara. The business has since grown to now operate its own bunker barges in West Africa, supply ISCC-certified biofuels, provide environmental solutions and trade carbon credits under the EU, UK and Swiss emissions trading schemes (ETS).

Group COO Shahbaz commented: “From the beginning, we have had strong ambitions for Blue Energy Partners and have continuously invested in our people, our capabilities and our partnerships. These agreements are another important step in that journey. They give us greater flexibility to pursue opportunities and continue building the business for the long term.”

Group CFO Kenneth Henriks said the agreements represent a step in developing a capital structure to support the company’s international growth. He noted: “This is an important milestone from a financial perspective and reflects the confidence our financial partners have in Blue Energy Partners and our balance sheet. As the business grows, our capital structure needs to grow with it.”

Henriks added that the company views the new financing as the start of longer-term relationships with its financial partners. “We, together with our new financial partners, see this as just the beginning and expect the partnerships to expand further over the coming years.”

The financing agreements follow what Blue Energy Partners describes as a significant year, including its rebrand from Global Fuel Supply in May 2026 — a change the firm says reflects its evolution from a fuel trader into a broader marine energy business.
