Heinrich Wegener & Sohn joins Global Ethanol Association


German family-owned bunker firm joins industry body to support ethanol and methanol adoption.

Heinrich Wegener & Sohn Bunkergesellschaft m.b.H., a family-owned German company that has been supplying marine fuels and lubricants to the shipping industry since 1929, has joined the Global Ethanol Association (GEA) as its newest member.

Announcing the membership on 29 June, GEA stated: "With a long-standing reputation in maritime logistics and bunkering, Heinrich Wegener & Sohn brings valuable expertise and industry leadership at a time when demand for low-carbon marine fuels is accelerating."

GEA added: "We look forward to advancing the development of ethanol and methanol bunkering by fostering collaboration across the maritime value chain, supporting infrastructure development, and helping enable the transition to cleaner, more sustainable shipping."

Based in Hamburg, Heinrich Wegener & Sohn acts as a physical bunker supplier and trader as well as a seller of marine lubricants.
