Shipping cooperative Bebeka UA has announced it is recruiting for a bunker trader position at its Groningen office in the Netherlands.

The role, which is open to both junior and experienced candidates, will involve supporting global fuel supply operations for international shipping, according to the job posting. The successful candidate will work between shipping companies, fuel suppliers, and logistics partners.

Bebeka states the position will contribute to sustainability efforts within the maritime sector, with responsibilities including monitoring market developments, scheduling deliveries, and liaising with ship captains and technical teams.

Daily tasks are said to include supporting contract negotiations, maintaining customer relationships, analyzing market trends, and advising on fuel quality and specifications.

The cooperative notes that a maritime background would be advantageous but is not required for the role. Instead, the organization is seeking candidates with initiative and a proactive work ethic.

Bebeka has indicated a preference for candidates living in the Groningen area, citing team collaboration and operational activities as the reason for this requirement.

The position represents an entry or development opportunity within the bunker trading sector, which handles the procurement and supply of marine fuels to vessels worldwide.
