WTI vs BIX comparison in November


Analysis of WTI crude vs the BIX global bunker price during the month of November.



The Bunker Index (BIX) monthly average fell at a lower percentage rate than WTI crude in November, according to Bunker Index and New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) price data.

The WTI settlement average was down $4.05 per barrel, or 8.1 percent, to $45.90 per barrel in November. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average fell $14.02 per tonne, or 3.2 percent, to $429.12 per tonne.

Over the last 12 months, between November 2015 and November 2016, the WTI monthly average has risen $2.93 per barrel, or 6.8 percent, from $42.97 to $45.90 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has increased by a less significant $9.75 per tonne, or 2.3 percent, from $419.37 to $429.12 per tonne.
