Bunker price volatility falls in November


November intra-month BIX differential dropped to $20.16.



Intra-month bunker price volatility dipped during the month of November, according to Bunker Index price data.

In an analysis of low-to-high differentials for the daily Bunker Index (BIX) global average, November recorded a differential of $20.16 per tonne, down from $25.95 per tonne in October.

The lowest daily worldwide bunker average last month was $420.22 per tonne, recorded on 15th November, whilst the highest price was $440.38 per tonne on 1st November.

The Bunker Index (BIX) is the daily global average price for all the 700-plus assessment prices published on the site, covering the major fuel grades in more than 300 ports.

Below is a table showing the intra-month volatility of global bunker prices between January 2010 and November 2016.
