BIX 380 price summary: week 34


A summary of weekly global 380 centistoke (cSt) prices.



The Bunker Index 380 CST (BIX 380) - the worldwide daily 380 centistoke (cSt) average quoted in US$ per metric tonne - fell to its lowest end-of-week level of the year so far between August 14 and August 21, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global 380 cSt bunker price plummeted $24.40 to $286.69 per tonne on August 21 compared with $311.09 per tonne on August 14. It is the first end-of-week price below $300 per tonne this year and represents the tenth decline in a row and the thirteenth in the last fourteen weeks.

In U.S. dollar terms, the $24.40-per-tonne decrease is the second-biggest of 2015. In percentage terms, it is the most significant of the year so far - beating the 7.79 percent decline recorded in week 2.
