GIB: 'Very successful' first month as physical supplier, offshore Brazil

Bunker firm says its high seas supply operation provides clients with time and cost savings.

Glander International Bunkering has today announced "a very successful start to its new physical operations in East Coast South America (Offshore Recife, Brazil)".

The company says that a full initial cargo was sold within two weeks of operation.

Flavio Ribeiro, managing director of Glander International Bunkering, Brazil, remarked: "The shipping market is changing rapidly and it is important that we add value to our clients business. The deployment of a high seas bunkering tanker in such a strategic location provides clients with the efficiency they need to cut costs and time in expensive port calls, for bunkers-only operations as well long delays in busy terminals."

Glander International Bunkering says it positioned an offshore tanker just outside the shipping lanes of East Coast South America (ECSA) in the intersection point of routes between Europe x ECSA, North America x ECSA and Africa x North America.

Commenting on the new set-up, Christoffer Berg Lassen, CEO of Glander International Bunkering, remarked: "LSMGO will also be available now in our physical operation Offshore Brazil as we understand our clients requirements when trading to ECA zones. And we need to assist them." Lassen added: "We are following our commitment to expand our global presence by diversifying our supply opportunities in markets where we identify we can add value to our clients.

"Project S08 W031 (the actual coordinates for the tanker position) was under discussion since we started the office in Brazil. We are glad to have received such great support from the market," concluded Lassen.
