The average global bunker price rose at a lower rate than Brent crude during the month of June, according to Bunker Index (BIX) price data.

The Brent settlement average increased by $2.79 per barrel, or 2.56 percent, to $111.97 per barrel in the month of June. During the same period, the BIX global bunker average was up $4.76 per tonne, or 0.6 percent, to $793.81 per tonne.

Since June 2013, the Brent monthly average has risen by $8.63 per barrel, or 8.35 percent, from $103.34 to $111.97 per barrel, whilst the BIX monthly global average has increased by $7.25 per tonne, or 0.92 percent, from $786.56 to $793.81 per tonne.
