Bunker price volatility at highest level since February


Bunker price volatility analysis - June 2014.



Bunker price volatility rose to its highest level since February during the month of June, according to Bunker Index price data.

In a comparison of low-high differentials for the daily BIX global average, June recorded a low-high differential of $13.19 per tonne, up from $8.27 per tonne in May.

The lowest daily global bunker average last month was $786.93 per tonne, recorded on June 9, whilst the highest price was $800.12 per tonne on June 20.

Bunker price volatility has now remained below $20 for ten consecutive months. It is the first time that this has occurred since Bunker Index began publishing global bunker price volatility data in April 2009.
