Bunker price volatility rose to its highest level since November during the month of February, according to Bunker Index price data.

In a comparison of low-high differentials for the daily BIX global average, February recorded a low-high differential of $14.81 per tonne, up from 11.58 in January.

The lowest daily global bunker average last month was $785.49 per tonne recorded on February 4, whilst the highest price was $800.30 per tonne on February 25.

Bunker price volatility has now remained below $20 for six consecutive months. It is the first time that this has occurred since Bunker Index began analysing global bunker price volatility data in April 2009.
