Shell launches product for marine engines in Oman.



Oil major Shell has launched Shell Diesel Extra - a commercial fuel for trucks, cars and marine engines - in Oman.

Shell Diesel Extra is designed to help engines burn fuel more efficiently, thus helping to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Commenting on the launch of the product, Said al Rawahi, commercial fuels manager at Shell Oman, said: "Many customers worldwide have already experienced the benefits of the product. The unique formulation is designed to help maintain engines over long term, prevent rust formation in fuel pumps, lines and injectors, and reduce foaming while refuelling."

Foong Sook Peng [pictured], fuel scientist, Shell Middle East and Asia, remarked: "In Oman we have a lot of customers in the construction, transport and marine sector, who will benefit extremely from Shell Diesel extra. We also have strong testimonials from construction companies worldwide. The product is a hit in other parts of the world. Though the marine sector is new for us, the product has proven to save costs."

Adil al Raisi, managing director of Shell Oman, said: "Shell Diesel Extra is designed to help fleet operators increase vehicle’s fuel efficiency – primarily in trucks, buses and vehicles with heavy duty engines. We believe that Oman’s market is mature enough for a such a differentiated fuel product. It is our ongoing commitment to supply our customers with quality products and on-time delivery."
