Argos Bunkering to launch this week

Argos North Sea Group's bunkering arm is due to officially begin operating on June 1st.

Marine fuels company Argos Bunkering B.V. is due to be launched on Friday 1st June as a result of the recent merger between Dutch energy suppliers North Sea Group and Argos Oil towards the end of last year.

In a statement, newly-merged entity Argos North Sea Group said: "Following the integration of both bunker desks there will also be an immediate integration of the distillates sales team.

"By this we will create one big bunker trading desk serving all our clients with all their needs ranging from all distillates and fuel requirements for any kind of viscosity in any kind of volume required."

With more than 850 employees, a combined tank storage capacity of over 1.5 million cubic metres (cbm) and annual turnover of approximately € 10 billion, the merger also includes the bunkering activities of both companies: North Sea Group Bunkering BV - formerly Frisol BV - and Argos Ceebunkers BV.

Prior to the merger, North Sea Group and Argos were both strong in midstream and downstream activities (storage and transfer, blending and trading of oil products, bunkering of seagoing and inland vessels, distribution and sales of oil products and biofuels).

According to a joint statement released last year, the new entity, Argos North Sea Group, will be active throughout Western Europe; in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France and Switzerland. Outside Europe, the envisaged combined organisation would also be represented in Brazil, Singapore and China, among others.
