The average price of 380-centistoke (cst) fuel oil in Rotterdam increased by $52 per tonne, or 8.4 percent, during the month of January, according to Bunker Index price data.

The 380-cst average at Europe's leading bunker port rose to $669 per tonne last month, up from $617 per tonne in December. January's average is the highest since July 2008, when the average monthly price was $679 per tonne.
