Singapore 380-cst average surges $61 in January


Monthly average tops the $700 per tonne mark for the first time since July 2008.



The average price of 380-centistoke (cst) fuel oil in Singapore surged $61 per tonne, or 9.2 percent, during the month of January, according to Bunker Index price data.

The 380-cst average at the world's leading bunker port rose to $722 per tonne last month, up from $661 per tonne in December, surpassing the $700 per tonne mark for the first time since July 2008. It is the largest monthly increase since rising $72 to $606 per tonne in February 2011
