Fuel cell presentation at Amsterdam event

Fuel cell specialist to speak at maritime trade event.

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) will be holding a workshop on new technologies for the third year in a row at the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS 2011), Amsterdam, on 16th November, where the issue of fuel cells will also be discussed.

METS is the world's largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry. It is organised by Amsterdam RAI in association with ICOMIA.

The show's target groups are yacht builders, naval architects, repair yards, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, captains, marina operators and equipment manufacturers from around the world.

Of particular interest will be a presentation by Tom Chicken of UK-based Fuel Cell Systems Ltd. on 'Fuel Cells in Marine Application'.

Other highlights include prominent naval architect Gerard Dykstra presenting his vision of "Future Boat Design”.

“This is the absolute best speakers list we could have hoped for," said ICOMIA’s Technical Manager Udo Kleinitz about this year’s line-up.

“I’m happy to say that we have improved Workshop on New Technologies beyond all expectations with our 2011 outline agenda.”

The workshop is co-organised with European Boatbuilder Magazine and is set to take place on Wednesday 16 November, 13.30-17.00.
