China: H1 fuel oil output up almost 14%

China's fuel oil output rises during the first six months of 2011. Month-on-month volumes fall in June.

China's fuel oil output rose by 13.6 percent year-on-year during the first six months of 2011, according to information released by the National Bureau of Statistics.

The country's fuel oil yield between January and June amounted to 9.76 million metric tonnnes, the data showed.

In the month of June the data revealed that China produced 1.5 million metric tonnes of fuel oil, down 4.41 percent on the previous month and up 5 percent on last year.

Industry sources said the month-on-month decrease could be attributable to the lower crude throughput of major refineries and a soft fuel oil blending market.
