Gulf Oil acquires Delfzijl terminal


Fuel supplier expands capacity with storage facility in the fifth largest seaport in the Netherlands.



Bunker and fuel supplier Gulf Oil Nederland has acquired a petrol terminal in Delfzijl, the fifth largest seaport in the Netherlands.

The depot will be used to store Gulf Max, car diesel oil and gasoil and it will be adapted so that it will be suitable for tank cars and ships. The storage capacity of the terminal is 3900 cubic metres (cbm) spread out over six tanks.

Gulf Oil currently owns a range of facilities along the Netherlands coast from Amsterdam to Delfzijl and is a marine fuel and lubricants supplier in a number of ports including Amsterdam, Delfzijl, Den Helder, Den Oever, Eemshaven, Europoort, Harlingen, IJmuiden, Lauwersoog and Rotterdam. The company specializes in the marine gasoil market, supplying to customers in international shipping, fishing and inland.

Following the acquisition, Gulf Oil has also hired employee Sytse Bolt as the depot holder. Bolt already worked as the depot holder for the previous owner of the terminal.
