Gasum has appointed Lowina Lundström as vice president, biogas, with the Finnish energy company confirming she will take up the role on 1 December.

Lundström will be responsible for Gasum's biogas business development and will join the company's group management team. She moves to Gasum from EIT InnoEnergy, where she spent three years as CEO for Scandinavia, managing a portfolio of clean energy companies, investments and shareholder relations. Before that role, Lundström was executive vice president at Svenska kraftnät, the Swedish transmission system operator, where she led a division of around 550 people.

Commenting on her appointment, Lundström said: "I am passionate about European energy policy and about getting the right players to work together on the energy transition. I see biogas as a key part of that transition and believe Gasum is in a great position to lead it."

Mika Wiljanen, CEO of Gasum, remarked: "We are pleased to welcome Lowina to Gasum and our Group Management Team. Developing our biogas business is a strategic priority for Gasum, and Lowina brings wide-ranging experience and strong business acumen to the position. She will be in a key role in steering Gasum's biogas business towards the future."
