Burando Energies has carried out its first physical bunker supply operation in Norway, delivering marine fuel to Heerema Marine Contractors' DCV Balder in Åmøyfjorden, north of Stavanger.
DCV Balder is one of Heerema's semi-submersible crane vessels and is used for heavy-lift operations in the offshore sector. The operation marks the first time Burando Energies has conducted a physical bunker supply in Norwegian waters, extending a commercial relationship with Heerema Marine Contractors that the company says spans more than a decade, primarily centred on operations in the ARA (Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp) region.
Duncan Huisman at Burando Energies remarked: "We are very proud to have carried out our first bunker operation in Norway for Heerema. What started as an idea to expand our physical supply options to different areas is now a reality. I am very pleased that Heerema placed its trust in us after working very closely with them over the last decade in ARA; we have now managed to supply Balder in Åmøyfjorden. This operation is a great example of our ability to support customers with safe, reliable and efficient bunker supply, wherever their operations take them."
Martijn Wijdeveld, VP supply chain manager and procurement at Heerema Marine Contractors, said: "The successful bunker supply to Balder in Åmøyfjorden reflects the value of strong partnerships and reliable execution in support of our offshore operations. We appreciate Burando Energies' commitment to safety, flexibility and service, and congratulate their team on achieving this important milestone in Norway. As we continue to execute complex projects around the world, dependable supply chain partners remain essential to our success."
Burando Energies is a supplier and trader of marine fuels with offices in Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Dubai and Houston, and physical supply operations primarily focused — up until now — on the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region and Hamburg. Back in July, the company claimed that it had supplied around 30% of all biofuel-blended marine fuel and B100 volumes bunkered at the Port of Rotterdam in the first half of 2026.
