IBIA and Greek shortsea shipowners sign cooperation agreement

The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) and the Hellenic Shortsea Shipowners Association (EENMA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in the marine fuels sector.

The agreement was signed on 20 May by IBIA Immediate Past Chair Constantinos Capetanakis and EENMA President Charalampos Simantonis. The signing ceremony was attended by several representatives from both organisations: Alexander Prokopakis, IBIA executive director; Danae Tsopela, EENMA director; Alexandros Lagouros, EENMA associate; Alexandra Gana, Operation Manager at Ganmar Shipping; Stefania Liveri, Executive Director at Lidmar Shipping and Trading Company; and John Tsogas, Global Head of Bunkering at Sekavin.

According to IBIA, the memorandum marks a step forward in collaboration between the two organisations, with a focus on providing practical solutions for the marine fuels sector.

The partnership aims to address the evolving needs of the shipping and marine energy industries.

IBIA is an international trade association representing stakeholders in the bunker industry, while EENMA represents Greek shortsea shipping companies operating primarily in regional and domestic maritime routes.
