Grimaldi Group has taken delivery of Grande Inghilterra, its eleventh ammonia-ready pure car and truck carrier, following a naming ceremony in Shanghai.
The vessel is designed to combine high cargo capacity with lower environmental impact, featuring onboard solar panels, lithium batteries, and cold ironing readiness.
The ship’s name pays tribute to the group’s long-established ties with England and reflects decades of continuous presence in the country.
The ceremony brought together representatives from the shipyard, Grimaldi Group and other industry participants.
The Italian shipping group stated that investment in vessels such as Grande Inghilterra forms part of its contribution to the energy transition of maritime transport, while also supporting customers’ needs through improvements in service quality, efficiency and sustainability.
