Changhong International has launched the fourth vessel in a series of 115,000-tonne product crude oil tankers being built for Greek shipowner Navios.
The vessel, CHB3014, was docked in the floating dock on 20 April. Representatives from the shipowner’s supervision team at the ADK site office, ABS classification society surveyors, and company officials attended the launch.
The tanker is a new-generation LR2/Aframax deep-well pump-type vessel developed to the latest regulations and standards for the segment. It has an overall length of about 249.9 metres, a beam of 44 metres and a depth of 21.5 metres, and is classed by ABS.
In addition to conventional fuel oil, the vessel can be converted in future to use methanol or LNG as fuel.
Changhong International also noted that provision has been made for medium-voltage shore power, creating the conditions for future connection to shore power systems and helping reduce carbon and sulphur pollution from auxiliary generators during port stays.
The tanker is equipped with a single-compartment, single-pump hydraulically driven deep-well pump system supplied by Framo, which the shipbuilder stated would increase cargo flexibility and operational value.
