Vopak committed to growth in Fujairah


Terminal operator dedicated to continue the growth of Fujairah as a strategic hub.



Oil terminal operator Vopak Horizon Fujairah Limited has said that it is committed to continue the growth of Fujairah as a key location for bulk liquid products in the Middle East.

Speaking at a ceremony to celebrate the company’s 10 year anniversary, Frank Erkelens, president of Vopak Oil EMEA and Board Member of Vopak Horizon Fujairah Limited praised the support of the local authorities by saying, "We are grateful to H.H Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and all authorities in Fujairah for the constant support to the company. As the leading tank terminal operator in Fujairah, we are dedicated to continue the growth of Fujairah as the strategic hub for bulk liquid products in the Middle East."

Vopak Horizon Fujairah Limited terminal initially had a capacity of only 500,000 cbm. Today, it can offer customers about 1.5 million cbm of storage capacity. The terminal has developed over the years into one of the main bunkering centers in the world and as an important hub for the clean petroleum product and fuel oil trade in the Middle East.

The terminal, which has been awarded ISO-9002 and ISO-14001 certification, is designed to handle products including naphtha, gasoline, gas oil, jet fuel, kerosene, condensate, blend components, fuel oil, and crude oil. It can accept tankers of up to 175,000 deadweight tonne (dwt).
