Petrobras Bunkering has issued an update to customers regarding maintenance work on bunker pipelines at the Port of Itaqui in Brazil, confirming different outcomes for the two product streams affected.

According to the notice, maintenance on the very-low-sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) pipelines - previously scheduled to run from 18 August to 7 September over a period of approximately 20 days - has been postponed, with no revised schedule currently available. As a result, VLSFO sales at the port have resumed.

However, maintenance on the marine gas oil (MGO) pipelines is proceeding as previously advised, running from 29 July to 9 November — a period of approximately 103 days. MGO sales at the affected berths will remain suspended for the duration of the works.

The pipeline maintenance impacts both the supply and receipt of products at berths in Itaqui — a port located in the state of Maranhão in northeastern Brazil that serves as a key bunkering point for vessels operating along Brazil’s northern and northeastern coastline.

Petrobras noted that it is “committed to minimising any inconvenience” to customers during maintenance.
