Spectra Fuels launches worldwide bunker broking operation

Business is headed by experienced trader Ravi Prakash.

A new worldwide bunker broking operation has been launched in India under the name Spectra Fuels.

The business is headed by experienced bunker trader Ravi Prakash, who prior to setting up Spectra Fuels was a trader at Cockett Marine. He also previously served as Deputy Marketing Manager at Chemoil Adani and was Sales and Marketing Manager at Geostan Marine.

Explaining the company's strategy, Prakash told Bunker Index: "Our approach to the bunkering needs of our customers is consultative and collaborative rather than pure selling."

Prakash explained that the firm's focus is on keeping its clients informed and providing a rapid response to queries in addition to reliable information.

"In the current competitive and fast-paced shipping environment it has become necessary for the bunker buyer to consider all the available options in terms of port, price, credit, fuel quality, fuel quantity and service before making the right purchase decision. As a bunkering partner, Spectra Fuels presents the spectrum of alternatives to the decision maker to assist them in making the right decision," Prakash remarked.

In addition to bunkers, Spectra Fuels says it is able to arrange the worldwide supply of all the leading international brands of marine lubricants - including cylinder oils, system oils, engine oils, gear oils, hydraulic oils, and greases.

Furthermore, in an effort to understand how shipping companies are planning to comply with the IMO's upcoming global sulphur cap of 0.5 percent on marine fuel in 2020, Spectra Fuels is conducting an online survey. To participate in the survey, please click here.
