The Bunker Index (BIX) - the daily average global bunker price quoted in US$ per metric tonne - rose by $2.66 per tonne, or 0.5 percent, during the 7-day period between May 8 and May 15, according to Bunker Index price data.

The global price was $548.37 per tonne on May 15 compared to $545.71 per tonne on May 8. It is the highest end-of-week figure of the year so far. It also represents the fifth weekly increase in a row and the least significant since February 27.
